What makes the Dan Wesson special?
« on: March 10, 2005, 05:08:20 PM »
In searching for the perfect ranch hand gun, one that will shot up to 100 yards to touch those coyotes and other predators on the ranch.  I received several recommendations on the Dan Wesson.  I am looking for a .357 with a 6 inch barrel.

What makes the Dan Wesson so accurate?  Do you really change barrels?  Why are these guns considered so special by their owners?  Is there anything to look out for when buying a Dan Wesson remotely without shooting or seeing the gun?

Thanks,
Doug

Doug,
Check this post for more info about buying DW

Check this link about some of the accuracy features and other info about DWThis link also has a pic of a nice 200 METER group fired by a 8" Dan Wesson.  (The proof is in the puddin', and it looks like the Dan Wesson sure knocked the puddin' out of that steel ram at 200 meters.)

New and used guns and barrels and shrouds are readily available through the factory or auction sites.  I checked gunbroker.com yesterday, and they had several 357's up for auction right now.  357's are usually plentiful AND CHEAP at pawn shops in my area.   Just spend an afternoon and let your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages.

Hope that is helpful,
