Snakes
« on: February 27, 2005, 07:29:28 PM »
I live in Alaska and no longer need to worry about snakes, but old habits don't die easily. Especially 50 years of watching for the bitty things. I remind myself everytime I step into the brush "There are no snakes in Alaska" Then it happened: I was sitting on the platform of the church where I am the pastor. A young lady that occasionally attends our church came in and sat down near the front. She had an unusual looking scarf around her neck. immediately I'm on red alert. Could that be a snake? Must just be a snake colored scarf, surely it could not be a SNAKE. Afterall THERE ARE NO SNAKES IN ALASKA. Its winter and as the people begin to warm up and remove there coats and gloves I am watching the odd colored scarf. Then it moves. Folks I am here to tell you there are snakes in alaska. At least there was one. The odd thing is the church full of alaska natives did not even notice it. Not used to looking for them I guess.   Regards, Byron

The only snakes I saw while living in Alaska were "ICE SNAKES", course this was while I was still a drinking man.   :-D

Gun Runner,
I assume that "ice snakes" are colored yellow?
