I have a Mowrey 58 Cal tree rifle.  I'm told it was hand made at the factory.  The barrel is 22 inches long and there is quite a bit of drop on the stock.  It is a fun rifle to hunt with.

I bought one at the end of last summer from a guy that was totally disgusted with it because it had to  much drop.  His disgust was my gain!  It is 36 cal. with 26'' barrel.  I haven't got to shoot it all that much but I am happy with it.  I had bought a 32 cal. long rifle earlier and worked on getting it shooting good  so I didn't ever get  a good powder charge worked out.  It did  take alittle getting use to the drop.  Over all I like it, don't really have any complaints. I took it squirrel hunting one evening and killed 2 squirrels with it.  I just want to  get a good load worked up for it.  If you are looking for a new rifle try Union Creek Muzzleloading they have them 32 - 54 cal. for $340.  There is another company Deer Creek Products or something like that that also sells them. If you your interested go back and look at some old posts about August. For a factory gun they  are good quality and have good looking  stocks.  Get yourself one and hope you enjoy!  dfw

Scrounger, I now have 5 of them and I love them. I have 2 in .36, 1 in .38(rerifled from a neglected .36) 2 in .40 and a .45. The stock is sort of low but I put shotgun butt plates on mine and they are all highly accurate. They are a favorite of the plinking walks I take with my brother, wife and grandson. They are tough and highly reliable. The older ones come in 1in66 rifling and it takes a bit more powder to stablize the smaller balls. Also they need to be wiped out a bit more often. Tryit.
