Winchester or Sauer
« on: February 14, 2005, 09:40:20 PM »
I am looking at buying a new rifle, and I think I narrowed my decision down to 2. I am looking at getting either a M70 super grade in 7mm wsm or a Sauer 202 that has been used but is in 99.9% condition. The Sauer is in 7mm rem. There is only $200.00 separating the 2 guns, which would all of you chose and why. I would like to here the good bad and ugly about both guns. Thank you for any response.

BackCountry,

It's a personal thing but I would go with the Winchester.  Lawdog

I own several makes of guns, including winchesters.  While I do not own a Sauer, I have handled and used them on a few occassions and I have to agree that they are a much better made gun than the winchesters.

Sauers are a lot more expensive than winchesters, so, even though the sauer is used with 99.9% mint condition, I'm surprised that the difference is only $200.  Even at that price difference, I would get the Sauer.  To make the deal even sweeter, just try to get the Sauer for a little less money.

Sauer---the Winny isn't even playing in the same league there.
