.17's and fouling of the bore.

Years ago the .17 Rem was dogged buy claims of excessive fouling by some gun writers. I'm considering a .17 (Savage 93 perhaps) I'm wondering if the rimfire .17 ammo burns dirty like most rimfire ammo and is it a pain to deal with the little bore.

I've Moly-fusioned 3 of my 4 hmrs, it does indeed reduce fouling and ease cleaning. Many RFC shooters recommend the treatment after break in. Some have seen improved velocities, some in the 2725fps neighborhood. I haven't chrono'd mine so I don't know about that part.
