What do you guys think of the Kimber 8400?
« on: February 05, 2005, 12:05:58 PM »
I looked at one of these today and thought that it was the nicest rifle I have ever seen in this class. This one had a stock to die for... fiddle back down both sides and lots of it top to bottom.

Do the centerfire Kimbers shoot up to their reputation? This gun is in .300 WSM and I am wondering how accurate are they and how punishing is this round in the 8400?

Just curious,

Jay

P.S. Its on lay-a-way till I make up my mind...

I had a friend who had three kimbers in 22-250 two had out of spec head space and one had stripped out scome mount holes from the factory.  I have heard that their quality has improved quite a bit.  I also heard that they seldom shoot that great due to their light barrels, however they are not inteded to be target rifles.  I would prefer an 84M in a 308 due to the light weight of these rifles

KENTDEP,

I have never shot the Kimber yet. A friend of mine got one and  he was going to let me shoot it but the weather was to bad when he was here. I liked the Kinber. It had great balance and the action and trigger was real smooth. He said the gun shoot great and I believe him.

Zachary just bought one and maybe he will let you know how it shoots. Buy what you like and don't worry about it. Carl L.
