It's a CANNON!

It's outside, in a National Park.

(I can't find it in either my Aircraft or Armored Vehicle recognition cards the Army gave me.)

3 inch Ordnanace rifle is correct!!  I'll bet Tim's hint about it's a cannon helped!!  :-D   No bonus point but Tim's other hint will help!

It was 50 degrees when that picture was taken. Yesterday.

Here's the next one.

OK, now just have to figure out where it was 50 degrees yesterday!
Still don't know where they are located but I'm pretty darn certain they are located way East of the Mississippi River....
And, I do know that I wish they were both in my possession (legally) since I do still have some available room........

Looking at the elevation and the hills in the background, the lay of the land - I'd GUESS Gettysburg.

This one, too, is a cannon.

Other than it's somewhere in the "Frozen Wastelands of The North"  (there's snow on the ground after all)    I have no idea WHERE it is. As it WHAT it is, my guess is a bronze Confederate type Napoleon

This one is a 10 pound Parrott rifle. As to the location of these fine pieces I'll take a stab and go with CW's guess of Gettysburg.

Way to go Cav Trooper!  And you get the bonus point!  Went to Gettysburg on Saturday and made a point to take pictures.  These cannons are not all that well marked and you really have to pay attention to figure out what they are.

Here's the next one.

The Plaque called them just 12 pdrs,  But yes its a Napolean with a muzzle reinforce.  I wouldn't have known what most were without the plaques

There is only a couple more left.  Here's the next.

The bonus point is gone

....20 pounder Parrot rifle.  Also the earlier 12 pdr without the muzzle swell is a CS produced piece.  Most of the CS made M1857 Gun-Howitzers (aka "Napolean") were without the muzzle swell.

I am going to go with a 24 pounder on that one also. Made in the USA. If it was bronze and had Dolphins on it chances are it would have been made in Austria. I am working on a carriage for a 1/3'ish scale model of one of these.
