Just ordered my first Handi-rifle today!
« on: January 19, 2005, 09:37:09 AM »
I checked all of the local gun shops and they were at least $240 for a new Handi (why the markup?) so I went with Wally World.  I know...  Anyway, I was torn between the 25-06 and the 7mm-08, both of which appear to be good deer cartridges.  I checked on the availibality of each and only the 7mm-08 was in stock.  That was an easy enough decision!!!  So, my $187.22 Handi Rifle in 7mm-08 is on the way and should be here in a week or so.

It appears to be somewhat hit or miss on these rifles, so I'm hoping I get a good one!  If it is, I'm sure I'll be hooked!  I'm thinking of the Bushnell Trophy line of scopes.  Are these any good?  They are in the $100 range.

Bonedigger:

Congrats on the new Handi...I'm sure you'll like it...everyone else who has one does...as far as the optics go...please check with our sponsers here on the forum...I just purchased a Buris Fulflield 2 3x9x40 B.P. and am well pleased with it...it also came with a really nice little 20X spotting scope...I had it 2 days from when I ordered it and RifleScopes.com are some great people to deal with...thjey have other cheaper scopes to choose from as well...but get the best you can afford...in the end you'll be better off...

They really are way more hit than miss.  You reead about the misses here but most never write about the ones that do what is expected of them.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!
