Night Vision and Youth Gun
« on: January 18, 2005, 05:31:01 PM »
 I hope you guys can help me with this one before I bought the UV223 I had bought a ATN 4x Night vision scope for night  coyote hunting here in IL.  My intention was to put this scope on the UV but had way too much eye relief to view properly.  I was at Gander Mountain the other day and saw a .243 youth model.  I picked it up and I believe the shorter length of pull would make it possible to mount the scope and be able to get my eye right up in there to be able to view.  I also have thought about buying another standard handirifle and fitting it with the adjustable AR-15 stock kit.  Are the youth model barrels just as good as the standard barrels.  Thank You for any insight .

Why not simply buy a youth stock and put it on the one you have.  Lots cheaper that way.

My thoughts exaclty HH, even the Tamer or Survivor stock is shorter. The Survivor stock makes a great Varmit stock. I have one on my .22 Mag coyote gun and am going to try one on my 45/70 or my 19" .290 "ThunderBoomer" for a walking around the woods or carry gun....<><....

I thought about the Survivor .308.  Anybody had good luck with them.  I have ben thinking about one of those for quite awhile.  I like the bull barrel.
Just might have to go order one up.  Can you buy the survivor or youth stocks straight from h&r?  Thanks
