Where are the bigfoot stories???
« on: January 07, 2005, 03:29:46 AM »
There has to be more encounters than the handful of the brave who are willing to post here about what they have heard and seen????  Come on guys if you had encounters say it so we can put the facts/puzzle together.
Maybe we can learn from each other and nail this thing down not to catch it but to study it more if we understand it more.  So far its out smarted everyone by staying undercover for so many years its time to bring it out in the open and admit it there something in the woods besides us.  We aren't on the top of the food chain like we believe we are for so many years.  We not the badest thing on two legs either.  There's a sayiong that God made man and winchester made him equal but equal to who?  Us like ourselves? But can a winchester stop this thing?  This sure seems to be one tough ombrea doesn't it?  I'd rather research it than kill it and try to understand hwo it thinks and lives.  Maybe we can learn how to survive without our little warm shelters??                     BigBill

I noticed something in my motorcycle days with riding in 0 to 10 degree weather with leathers.  Our hearts kick in like a furnace to keep the blood flowing to keep us warm when I come in contact with the very cold conditions.  I can still feel the extra warmth after i'm in the house for a while.  I was riding all winter in snow and ice storms too on a street legal studded dirtbike but i felt this extra warmth and heat kick in many times.  I'm not sure what triggers this when it happens and why do so many people freeze in the cold.  Maybe my body adjusts to it because i'm out in so much?  Which makes me think we can live in the wilds and outdoors if we become adjusted to it of course it would take quite a few years and one must be born and bread top the wilds.  I would log all winter long and ride bikes too so most of my time was spend in the cold years ago.  I noticed something the other day too my first trip out to shovel the snow I froze and my second trip out I did nothing different I was ok so my body adjusted to it.  My point is if our body's adjust to the cold weather we would probably have long hair like bigfoot too if we lived in the wilds we would be very much like him if we weren't civilized right? think about it?

Well, sorry BB, but I just don't run into 'ol Hairy everyday in this sprawled-out madness called San Antonio. If I was Hairy I sure wouldn't come within 30 miles. Even in all my days and hours in the country on farms and ranches in both TX and MO, I've never seen hide nor hair of Hairy, or even any sign of him. Guess I've never visited the right places.

But since you insist, there is one bigfoot story I can tell....

I went to a garage sale about a month back and the lady host had a number of very nice women's shoes for a dollar a pair. I asked what size they were and she said 7. I told her that wouldn't work, because I HAD BIGFOOT (size 9) FOR A WIFE  :-D  :-D  :-D . Can't figure why my wife couldn't seem to find the humor in that one.
There is no more humbling experience for man than to be fully immersed in nature's artistry.

Hi BigBill,

Nothing new with regards to Bigfoot/Sasquatch up here in the Great White North. Of course the snow is flying, the wind is blowing and it's real cold in my neck of the woods.

As you were getting at above, man has pretty much become an "indoors creature" with all his warm and cozy homes filled to the brim with modern conveniences. My guess would be there's probably not too many people out stomping around in the wilds to see the tracks of Bigfoot/Sasquatch even if one did come out of hiding for a short stroll or a drink of water.

I also have a feeling that these animals may be spending time in the shelter of caves or dens (holes in the ground) surviving on a heavy layer of fat that was put on when times were good for hunting and gathering food. The Bigfoot/Sasquatch may not fully hibernate like a bear does, but from some of the reports that I have come across and gathered over the past 40 years, I believe there is information that points in this general direction.

Like you, I also had plenty of two-wheeled Iron Horses in my younger days. I also spent all of my younger working life out of doors in the bush or out on the waters of the blue Pacific. Spent every night I possibly could sitting out in the field with the pouring rain and blowing wind hunting ducks. Come deer and moose season, I was out hunting and tracking in the wilds until the tags were filled. Having said that, I fully agree that a person that works, hunts and spends a bunch of time out in the elements has a much higher tolerance to the cold and wet than someone who spends their time indoors.

Could modern man revert to the wild and survive off the land?
That's a good question.
I'm certain of only one thing: should there ever be a natural (or man-made) disaster in North America, a "country boy" can survive. Fact is, I have everything I and my family will need set aside within easy reach right now. In my books it's always better to be prepared and have a plan for survival.

yeah right.  Look what happens in the big citiees when they loose electricity.  I remember during that blackout a year or so ago that people in NY were upset becasue they couln't open thier can (electric can openers didn't work) and couldn't cook.  America for the most part has all gone soft and yuppie.  :)    :(

If it ever does happen it will be really easy to see who will survive and who won't right??                                         BigBill

I don't have electricity at my camp, no running water at my camp, no plumbing at my camp too.  My kids spent many vacations there bathing in the mountain streams, using a hand crank can opener, cooking outdoors and outdoor plumbing(outhouse) for many years of get away's.  The city people just don't have a clue to survival your right their in big trouble in any little disaster that hits us.  After i'm long gone I'm sure my kids will survive anywhere and i think their "can make do" sense will save them I passed on what i could.  To some camping is a Holiday Inn with no room service!!!!
