First group with my .30-06 Encore

I lucked in to a great deal over the week-end.
 An Encore .30-06 Blued Steel, Synthetic stock,Bushnell 3-9x50 dawn to dusk scope, fired ten times, for $250.00


 I tested my accuracy load in it today and it produced a 3 shot @ 100 yards .535" group.
 I hope that wasn't a fluke.
The load was:
 Winchester case
 150gr Sierra Spitzer
 51.2gr IMR 4064
 Federal GM210M primer


 I'm very happy with that test!

I have a 24" blued 30/06 barrel for my encore too.  One thing you will find is that a lot of these encore barrels shoot really well.  Here is a pic of my rifle at 200 yards.

my 308 also shoots groups out of the4 box just like your 30-06. you will find the 30 caliber barrels are pretty exact when ti comes to groups and most of the people who reload know their stuff. i am shooting factory 150 grain soft points from winchester and i have some reloads int he ballistic tips that i know will shoot great but haven't got the chance to test them yet. i think without a doubt the best all around calibers are in the 30 cal range and more loads have been tested in them than in any other caliber and they have taken more game than any other caliber out there.
