Look who I found in Putnum
« on: November 23, 2004, 12:33:26 AM »
My friend had already gotten a 4 by the time I saw him.  There was quite a bit of shooting going on, but he was the only deer I had seen by the time I took the shot at 10.  I was using a 20ga Tracker II with Winchester Platinum tips. At 50 yards the slug stayed inside the off shoulder and he just dropped.
Good hunting
Tom

Nice deer.

I used to hunt Putnam, but now Im up in Dutchess, so I mostly hunt there.  Where abouts in Putnam did you find such a nice buck?

They are building like there is no tomorrow there and its a shame.  I grew up in Carmel, and its no-longer the nice little quiet town I remember.  Many of my old haunts have now developed into condo complex's and homes  UUGH!!

Hey KB

I was in Putnam Valley off of Cimmaron rd.  Been able to hunth there a few years now.  I have seen alot of bucks and missed what could have been this one last year.
I still plan on taking a doe and then going back for muzzleloader.

I know what you are talking about toward Carmel. It is really nice though, that the DEP opened up all of the watershed areas for hunting.  There are about 2000 acres in Putnam alone.

Good hunting.

Tom
