Has anyone had any dealings with a Howa 1500.Who Makes it and is it a good Rifle?

howa makes a great rifle. they make the weatherby vanguard for weatherby, and i have one. i am very happy with it and its pretty accurate and is a great deal for the price.

i have a 1500 .243,great rifle,nice synthetic stock. with my reload,h4895,38.5,65 v-max well under 1/2 inch. i have put 2 in same hole at 100 yards. i think it can do it all day with a better shooter than me,you do have to do your part! i have it zeroed in at 100 yards dead on,at 200 it drops 1 1/2",300 9".

I have two howa's 1500's sitting in the lay-away departments in two different walmarts one in 6.5x55cal.and .338caliber.I read the reviews in
guns&ammo.

I've owned 4 of them.

2x 22-250's
1x 6.5x55 Swede
1x 300 Wby mag

They are good rugged rifles that are well put togeather, BUT! None of the aforementioned rifles ever printed a sub 1" group at 100yds. Oh they all showed perfectally acceptable accuracy averaging between 2 to 3 inch groupings but match rifles they are not.

So it depends on what kind of accuracy it takes to make you happy.
