Smith and Wesson Model 1000
« on: September 07, 2004, 04:15:55 PM »
I have a Model 1000 20 gauge that I was given for my 13th birthday so you know the sentimental value is more than the practical value.  This thing used to shoot great but a while (okay, a long while) back it started refusing to shoot more than one shot at a time.  It just won't feed.  I've had it to two or three gunsmiths, I've cleaned it time and again but it just won't shoot.  I need help with this thing.  I'm tired of not being able to use this gun, plus my kids are having a bit of a time with my 11-87 (too heavy).  Anyone have any suggestions about how to fix it or who to send it to for repairs???

Thanks,
mamerch

That sounds like a friend of mine recently. There is a gasket in those made
of some tar like material simply gives up after a while. A neoprene replacement fixed it. ROB
