I am thinking of getting one of these in a 22-250 for target and varmint hunting. I have read good things about the Savage but wanted some feed back from users if possible.

Thumbs up or down?

I have several Savage rifles. All of them shoot well, some of them spectacularly so, expecially considering the price, etc.

i have one in .223,the best group so far i think was in betwwen 1/4 and 1/2 inch.but i think with tinkering my handloads it'll do better,and the accutrigger is awesome,out of the box 1 1/2lbs.

Ditto on what JoseBD wrote. I really like mine and can't say enough about the Accutrigger. It is a nice rig to shoot.

A buddy of mine has a new one with the accutrigger. It is a .243 stainless steel with a nice laminate stock. He loves it and says it is the most accurate
gun he owns.

I have a 10FP with Choate Stock in 308 and it has accurtrigger and it shoots .500 groups at 100 yards and .750 groups at 200 yards. They are a great shooting rifle, but their are allot of member on this forum that hate them because of the looks and they think they are cheap looking, but boy do they ever shot.

KF9VH, I have this exact rifle. I got it about 2 months ago and it has turned out to be one of the best rifles I have ever owned. I tried some loads that I had made up for a remington in it, and it shot all of them under 1/2". Even the winchester varmint pack stuff shot under 1/2", come to think of it, nothing I have tried has ever shot over 1". Plus, you can change the caliber yourself with another barrel and the appropriate wrench. You wont be disappointed with the savage.

I recently purchased a Savage 111 in .300WM and I love it. The rifle is alot more accurate than I am for sure. I agree that some people don't like Savage due to "cosmetic" issues, but they more than make up for it in accuracy. The finish on the metal is great, although the synthetic stocks could be improved upon. The only thing I don't like is the plastic trigger guard, but I can live with that. You will be pleased with Savage I'm sure.

shot my 12fv today,with 27.6 of blc2,53 hp match sierra matchking, first three shots all touching,almost same hole. next three, two touching.these are awesome rifles.

I am picking up the 22-250 tomorrow. What kind of scope bases and rings are you using? Where is the best place to order them?

on my 308, B-square one piece base with Warne rings.

my 223 has weaver 2 piece base with Warne rings.

I'm not a fan of Savage rifles, but even I admit that there is no denying that they all seem to be real tack drivers.
