Philip and Juliana(Wintermyer)Gentzler are remembered as the pioneer settlers of Lincoln County, North Carolina. It would be the children of Philip and Juliana that would begin to consistently use Cansler as the spelling of their name. Most Cansler's alive today draw their ancestry through one of Philip and Juliana ten children.
