... and shot a 1.7-inch 3-shot group at 100 yards off sandbags. still haven't tried any factory hunting ammo except hornady 165-grain flat-bases. this certainly will do, but i suspect there is something more accurate out there. will try good ol' rem 150-grain core-lokts and win 168-grain ballistic silver tips next. in the meantime. i'll score the shop's last box of hornady 165 flat-base soft points because it sure is consistent with nice, round groups. i can shoot 'em into 1.5 inches. with experience, the boy will get 'em down there with pappy's groups.
tried some indian 7.62x51 mil-surp. lousy crap. 4 inches at 50 yards, and filthy. but it was worth $1.98 for 10 rounds - i think. :roll:
