Huntofalifetime.org, helping the kids
« on: July 30, 2004, 10:58:28 AM »
I just wanted to take a minute and tell ya’ll about a group that is doing great things for youngsters that are or have suffered the effects of life threatening illnesses. "Hunt of a Lifetime" is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to grant hunting & fishing adventures and dreams for youngsters, age 21 and under, who have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses. We are doing what we can to make a difference in their life by helping to their dreams come true. The web page is www.huntofalifetime.org. Depending upon which type of trip and the destination they chose for their trip they may receive items from companies such as Savage Arms, Simmons Optical, BSA Optical, Buck Knives, KBar Knives, Rocky Boots, Mossy Oak, etc. to take home after their adventure. If you know of any youngsters who are interested in going on a hunting or fishing trip please have them or their parents contact us. After it is confirmed that they are suffering or have suffered from such an illness we will do what we can to make their dreams come true. Our contact information is listed below.

been busy lately, so just now responding.  Once again, I applaud your efforts and those of everyone at Hunt of a Lifetime!    :D
Keep up the good work.  Will ya'll have a booth at the Hunters Extravaganza in Houston this coming weekend?  My wife and I will be there on Saturday.

No, Mark we will be unable to have a booth there. It seems that the good folks at TTHA aren't willing to work with groups like Hunt of a Lifetime. They want to charge us the full booth price and for that we can host several kids here in Texas or pay for an airline ticket for one of them to go hunting or fishing out of state. Instead, I will hosting a booth for HOAL in New Jerseyat a much larger show that is similar to the Extravagnza. This organization is not only giving us the booth for free but is paying my way up so that I can help our New Jersey folks out. Take care I will be getting in touch with you soon.

the George R. Brown Convention center is notorious for that, so it may be them as much as the TTHA.  Who kows.  Either way, I think the TTHA could ahve stepped up and paid for atleast 1/2 of the booth cost.  Not sure what they charge now, but it's a shame they couldn't have done something to help.  Alot of people go through the Houston show, and could have learned about the organization.
