:grin: our Wyoming antelope permits are on the way. Eather sex in north-east Wyoming and doe fawn closer to home.

Twenty years have passed since my son and I first drew a tag. In all those years we have only failed to draw two times. The check from  the Wyoming Fish and Game is one you do not want to recieve.

For the past ten years I have hunted antelope mostly with single shot pistols because of my addiction to IHMSA silhouette shooting. My only 15" buck was taken on my first pistol hunt with a 14" 30-30 and a myopic 2x Pentax scope. Now my weapon of choice is usally a custom 6BR Rampro with a Leupold 2.5x8. Bill Jr has taken a nice Buck with his FA357 and iron sights, I have yet to accomplish that feat.

I put in for WY tags a couple of years ago but failed to draw.  Schedules haven't worked out in order for us to have a chance to go again so we haven't reapplied.  I'll probably put in again this year and see how it goes.  I'd like to get up around Riverton and do some hunting with my Freedom Arms also.  Good luck on the trip.  GS

Good luck on you hunt and congratulations on the draw. I read about hunting in Wyoming for lopes last year but didn't get on the stick this year and apply. I will be in the draw next year.  :wink: I will be hunting with handgun myself. Can't decide which. XP100R-.260 w/3x12 Burris, 14" .309JDJ Contender w/Burris 2x7, 14", 7-30 Waters w/TC 2x7 scope, XP100 7BR.
I guess I have a year to work up loads and decide. Keep us informed.

I'll be headed down to So Pass here in a few weeks. My son and I drew permits for the handgun/muzzleloader hunt in area 107 which opens Aug 20th It can be a hard hunt but it's always fun.

:grin: Area 107 was where it all started, hunting with a pistol that is. Years ago, my hunting buddy informed me that we had antelope tags in Wyoming. the only catch was hunt with black powder or a pistol.

Our group was lucky enough to draw several times in 107 and know the area well. Lots of pronghorn steaks have come from 107.

Hunting antelopes is fun and a good challange with a handgun.

Went a few years ago to Wyoming with the Contender Super 14" 7-30 Waters w /Leupold 2-8 scope. Managed to wack one of them lopes at 265yds with one shot from the prone position. Most gratifing hunt I have been on to date.

But that will change as I am going for the Coastal Brown Bear in Sept. with a Freedom Arms 454.
