Leupold quick disconnect scope rings/mount system
« on: May 15, 2004, 05:31:48 AM »
I didn't ask for these but they ended up on my new 22-250
rifle. The scope weighs 16 ozs. & I'm wondering how anyone here who has used this system feels about them..My first thought is nah I'll stick with the regular kind of Leupold base & rings..Then I started thinking it might be cool if I could take that 6.5 X 20 & use it on other rifles when doing load development work..TIA, mike in Ct

Not a bad idea, but it probably won't work well unless they are similar guns. The spacing between the rings is different on most rifles. Also you would have to sight the gun in each time you switched.

The quick disconnect mounts are wonderful for removing the scope to access open sights. They are also great for storing / transporting the gun when the scope gets in the way. I had a set for a few years but replaced them with a Burris steel base & rings.
