Big Loop Levers - Final Report
« on: April 29, 2004, 04:15:56 AM »
You folks may have read my earlier thread regarding ordering, but never receiving, a DRC big loop lever from Brownell's.  Well, I came across www.brockmansrifles.com out in Idaho.  What they do is modify a Marlin-made lever by cutting/welding.  Presto chango - a big loop lever.  Cost is $120 IF you exchange your old lever or $160 IF you retain your old lever.  But what's the sense in that?  Service is good too.  Ordered on Monday and got it through priority mail Wednesday.  Had it on the gun 5 minutes after I walked in the door from work.   What with the Williams fire sights, limbsaver recoil pad and now the big loop, I'm done with this gun.

Hope this helps somebody.

NOBODY.
How was the quality of the workmanship ? I have two 45-70s and i have a hard time getting my hand out of the ring after firing a shot. I wear a ring on my third finger and it panics me a little trying to pull my finger out.
Guess thats what i get for having big fat fingers. take care.........Joe

The bluing is more of a flat blackening and is noticeable, but I don't mind that.  The trigger guard portion looks blued,  the looooooop, uh sorry, the loop is flat black.  There are no grind marks that I can tell.   As long as this thing holds up I'll be more than happy.  Since it was originally a Marlin lever, there was no problem with the fit which I found to be a plus.
