mainehunt:  try Numerich Arms/Gun Parts.  They are always selling the 1917s or just the actions.  They are in the 914 area code in West Hurley, NY.  HTH.  Mikey.

Great action and very under rated.    I have bolts for both P-14 and P-17 actions in my shop give me a call 207-938-3595.    If this is a project gun let me know as I have a bolt that has already been re worked.    If you are doing a magnum the hot trick is to fit it with a P-14 bolt then you do not need the counter bore or extractor cut on the barrel.    Like I said, these are great actions and will swallow up cartridges .416 Rigby size and larger.   P-14, 17s are one of my favorite actions to work with when a customer wants a "big" rifle, they also make a great 45-70.
There is no such thing as over kill!!!!  :-)
