Has anyone heard if anyone is making a 17 mach 2 barrel for the 10/22? How hard is it to change a barrel on a 10/22? Also will these rounds fit in a standard 10/22 clip? Thanks for your input.

i think most companies that make 10/22 barrels will be starting to make them chambered for the mach 2. chamber reamers are supposed to be out in june so it won't be until then that they will make many.

the 17hm2 will work out of the standard 10/22 magazine

Changing barrels on the 10/22 is very easy. The barrels are held in by a retaining block that is held in place by two hex bolts. Just unscrew the bolts, take off the block and pull out the barrel. Install the new one in reverse order. The whole operation take minutes to do.

I don't think ammo will be available until early Fall so I wouldn't figure on any barrels for a few months. As for your magazine what I have read they talk about how they are working on making sure the load will work in semi auto rifles and will reuse existing magazines and firearms without major retooling.

Does sound like fun though :grin:

The Barrel from Green MTN is not a 17M2 barrel but in fact a 17LR or 17HS barrel made for the 17Aguila ammo. It will not chamber the 17M2 round as the 17M2 is based off the cci stinger case and is a little longer then the 17aguila round.
