. . . I can tell when their short staffed, been a few times a person is stocking a shelf, and then has to run up, punch in on the cash register and start scanning. . . .
If you didn't already know, "short staffing " is the
Aldi's business model.
All of their stores have a maximum of 4 employees
on duty, ( 3 is the regular number) including the

Everybody-does-everything-

Today, the old adage " JACK OF
ALL TRADES, MASTER OF NONE "
is the rule of thumb.
It is applicable in every industry.
Just me- I'll go through whatever line

Semi related- years ago I was told by
2 different wallyworld employees I knew
that eventually most all retail stores
( starting with grocery stores) would
be a closed building, and you'd have
to order online and drive through your
line at the store to pick up your pre

things are being locked away and you
have to push the button and call an
employee to unlock and hand you
your can of deodorant or shaving
cream, and at some stores they
walk you to the register to pay for
whatever RIGHT NOW.
Maybe not before I die, but most
retail business will eventually be
closed to customers, and you'll
be allowed to pick up whatever
you've ordered and paid for online
and sent on your way.
