1. There is a 50% chance of the toilet seat being up.

Not sure why that is such a large issue among women.

If they've had babies many have a weak bladder and when the urge hits, time is of the essence. I'm told, and have observed my wifes race to the toilet with mere seconds to spare.
For that reason I developed the habit of lowering the toilet seat when I'm finished out of respect. It doesn't consume that much time, or effort.
Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times.

I regret that I no longer have my beloved wife for whom to leave the seat down.  If you still have your wife with you, how about just leaving the seat down..as a thanks to God ?

As far as having a son, I thank the Lord for the son He has given me.  As I approach my 90th year, he is so caring and helpful..that I feel especially blessed !

...And that goes for his wife and all my grandchildren, all could not be more courteous , helpful and leading lives for which I can only be most grateful.

2. If a hole needs to be dug he is more then happy to dig :). Most men are trained to put the toilet seat down, one guy I know is trained to sit down and pee. I like my arrangement and will keep it the way it is until or if it becomes a problem… like many times I may end up regretting my behavior, butt, for now it works for me.

Gotcha, Mule; I really did get your humorous note, but failed to acknowledge it.  An extra man in the family, does raise the odds for an up toilet seat !  :D ;D

Leave the seat down? How about just close the thing, lid and all…that’s what the lid’s for.
