this is where i live and ride. harley shop is owned by a buddy i ride with and toward the end of the video on here way she goes through the tiny town of Christmas where i actually live. you will see a big santa billboard. to get to my place you turn there and its about a mile up the road. been all over the country and came back here because without a doubt its the best place ive found to live and raise a family. now if we could just send the tourist back down south and get this area back to what it was like even 10 years ago!! good thing though is if you get out of the munising area the tourist population isnt near as bad. guess thats what you get when God's country is in your back yard

Been threw the UP a couple of times, never on my bike. Never liked going threw Chicago, so if I did a gun show in Duluth I drove up threw Michigan and across the UP. Beautiful country. Only problem I had, damn deer think they own the road up their after dark. Speed limit was 55-60, better do 45 and have your foot on the break. Friend of mine I'd see at the Michigan shows, had a gun shop in Trenary, first name was Roy. If Paul Bunyon came to life, it would be Roy. Deep voice and built like he could lift a V-8 out of a car without a lift. Grand Rapids gun show, we'd usually go to the same restaurant have a couple beers and BS a lot. Only time I was in the UP, and didn't feel real welcome. The guy I worked for doing the shows, wanted me to stop at a duty free store, and pick him up a couple 1/2 gallons of Ron Rico rum, and 2 cartons of Marlboro's since they would be a lot cheaper. Had a lot of stares and looks. Wasn't until I got back in my van and down the road, I realized it was the T-shirt I had on. My boss had some T-shirts printed up,  Free the walleye, gill net an Indian on it!! Probably lucky I made it out of there with my scalp!!
We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

Sometimes visitors for small towns can be a good thing. They bring money to old depressed mining towns. In western Pa there are a number of small towns many of them old mining towns that have been rejuvenated because of old rail beds made into walking and biking trails. One of those trails is the Great Allegheny passage which is 150 miles, then the C&O towpath connects to it and runs to DC making it a 335 mile trail. People from all over the country come to ride it from end to end. Which brings lots of money to stores, B&B's, Inns, hotels, and restaurants.

that gun shop was about 35 miles from here and he always had neat crap. probably why he went under. 75 percent of the dear hunters up here use a 06 742 or a 3030
