WOWEE- what the bleepety bleep happened?
« on: November 12, 2023, 02:11:47 AM »
My goodness,  I guess marriage vows have
completely changed from what I thought.

No more " to honor and obey "
And especially " forsaking all others"

I guess they should just go ahead and drop
the pretense and streamline the whole thing
and say " I'm marrying you until I get tired of you
and get everything paid off, or until I find
somebody that I think I might like better.  . "

No wonder everything is so bleeped up today

What a crying shame   :-\

This new generation is writing their own vows.  The term obey could translated to respect her husband.  I heard a "Focus on the Family" radio episode in which the Greek word "to obey" was "to respect".  He said men value respect more than love, while women value love more than respect.  That is why Paul said for the man to Love his wife, while he told the women to respect their husbands.  My wife and I practice this and it works far better than getting into arguments.

Forsaking all other is a must for a happy marriage, and why they would leave this out I don't know.  It shows permanence, and children need both their parents to be well rounded with far fewer problems.

If a wife doesn't respect her husband, the kids can pick up on this and you end up with rebellious kids.  If a man doesn't show love for his wife, the kids also pick on this and the boys especially will end up not treating women or their future wives properly.

Just following the Bible's principles saves a world and a country a lot of problems.

Since the 60s the cows have been milked by non owners, and it is apparent that the practice isn't gonna change anytime soon. Why should it? The milk is free.
Likewise on feedin calves that ain't yours.

All good sense, Bill..  Of course, is any "man", who skips out on feeding his calves, somebody has to do it !

"Women's liberation", is an old jpke.

Following their coaching, and just bedding down with anybody who happens along...has brought many of their hapless fopllowers, into
a modern form of servitude, where some confused women will work a couple jobs, just to maintain some slug, that is nothing more than as drone
bee. ..Doesn't produce anything..just kept around for breeding purposes.
