And who does not say, "The posts we make on GBO are a tiny slice of who we are, that cumulatively taken, reflect a very good portion of our distinct personalities and unique characteristics"?
There is a large element of trith in the above statement. Much of what we are, is what our cumulative experience molds us into.
Many of us when quite young, took risks while driving, often foolish risks. ..but after seeing and/or experiencing the consequences of same, added that to our cumulative store of knowlege/experience.
When young, we tend to enjoy that wind inthe face and bumps on the butt, throwing up dirt, and admiring glances..from other more or less juvenile admirers.
Then as we live on, we handle things more cerebrally, understanding that the wind in the face and the dust flying , is just a matter o simple physics.
But if that thrills somebody, I have no complaints, except where they may endanger others.
The dangers I mentioned first off, is one occasionally seen around here, and most often happens to people operating snow machines off trail in darkness. If the wire they run into happens to have barbs, that only adds to the drama..
During and for a couple years after WW2, troops operating in Germany had to be careful of a similar situation, since even after the surrender, some Nazis were still "diehard" zealots. As a result, since partisans often strung fine cables or wires across roads, GIs often installed "anti-decapitation' devices on their Jeeps..see photo below.
