Chinese Medicine, as well as western herbology and naturopathy, nutrition, osteopathy, and homeopathy COULD be used to salvage healthcare. Traditional Chinese Medicine has a written history of at least 5000 years' use. Yes, a lot of that was lost in the communist "reeducation" purges, but a lot survived, too. It is used right alongside western medicine all over Asia today, with better outcomes for many conditions than western medicine. For instance, they have used bai liu pi (white willow bark) for fevers, aches, and muscle pain for several thousand years. There are Chinese herbs that can kill C-Diff and MRSA, and CDC labs can't even tell how they work--- on the other hand, western medicine uses less than 10% of known biomedical knowledge. Western medicine certainly has its place, but there are other, much less expensive modes of healthcare available. The problem? None of them are going to make the drug companies any money, and insurance companies don't know how to include them.
By the way, someone mentioned that they did not pay outrageous prices for their IV fluids. That may be, but SOMEBODY did--- and I guarantee you paid more than the 11 cents a liter it actually costs to produce.
