Irrespective of race, rioting is becoming all too common! I suggest that there is too little incarceration/discipline involved.. For many of the rioting types, jail is nothing but a revolving door.
I believe it is time we moved back to incarcerations with teeth. Since many people who are jailed, are often in there because they would rather steal, flim-flam or flash-mob to gain money, rather than to work for it, apparently they have a fear of work.
With this being the case, they should be acquainted with hard labor..even if they are only making little rocks out of big rocks. They should have to work as hard as the heaviest labor being performed by any taxpayers who are burdened with the expense of maintaining the inmate. Perhaps then, they may not be quite so willing to return to the slammer.
Perhaps the "correction" system would do well to hire Sheriff Joe as a consultant.. I understand perps don't like to return to his custody..that's the way it should be..
