okay i have a oppurtunity to get a synthetic tikka wh .300 mag for 429$ tax included.... should i get it. I really would like the wsm more but i dont think it will ever be better, maybe just as good... Is the whitetail hunter free floated? does it have a good trigger?? help please.

I have an older Tikka Whitetail Hunter.  The barrel is free floated and the trigger is fantastic and easy to adjust if needed.  Mine is a little under 3#.  My only question would be if the rifle weighs enough to help out with the recoil and what length the barrel is.  I agree with you that the short mags really do not offer anything worth waiting for if this one is what you want.

it has a 24 in barrel, but do u think this is a good price??

If you want the caliber, the price is probably as good as you will get one for.   If they have had it awhile, maybe you can get them to throw in the sales tax or something.  I do think that with its being a lite rifle you are going to get quite a bump from the recoil.
