Where was my Lee-Enfield .303 made?
« on: January 06, 2013, 04:02:06 PM »
I like vintage/military rifles, and just got this rifle and I like the history and stories behind them as well.  If only this gun could talk, it has a lot of proof marks on it.  Can you help tell me were it was made?  My guess would be Austrialia, but I know they were made in England, Canada, and India as well.  The most being made in England, I think?
I am an endless source of useless information.  I've learned more and more about less and less and now I know everything there is about nothing at all.

Birmingham Small Arms Co, Birmingham, England is where it was made; the other stamps I am not that familiar with.

I have a No1 Mk3 made by BSA Co.

back in those yrs they put the serial niumber on the barrel, the bolt and under the rear sight if you lift it up. The 6 pointed x means sold out of service to the public. the DP rings a bell i'll look that up
