I hear you DEE, loud and clear. Hard choices are having to be made, for sure. Fortunately for me,  whether they take away our 501 (c)3 or not, I made the choice decades ago to answer to a Higher Authority, ha. It would make you weep if I told you of other ministers I know who have already 'toned the Gospel down" concerning homosexuality/Islam and many other issues. Fear is a terrible thing, and it is quite true that "what a man compromises to keep,  he  is destined to lose". We either "pay on the front end or pay on the back end", ha.

I doubt you would surprise me much. I gave up on a preacher in the Southern Baptist Convention church I grew up in, and went BACK to an Independent Baptist Church I had been a member of for 10 years.
If your gonna give me the Gospel, give me ALL OF IT! Half the truth is a lie. All the truth is, THE TRUTH. I don't need to feel good. I need to feel convicted.

Yup. the only people who get the benefit of our constitutional rights are "CITIZENS of the USA"....

Not so. You should check the facts before you blow off.

501 (c)3 has nothing to do with religious teachings on ethics, morality. It prohibits participation in partisan political activities. The churches can teach what they want about homosexuality, alcohol, adultery, etc. They simply can not endorse or oppose  a specific candidate or issue. If your church is for or against any of these you should know it by now. If knowing it you aren't smart enough to know how your conscience should lead you to vote perhaps you should not bother voting.

If your not "smart enough" to know that, that is what we were talking about, then perhaps YOU shouldn't be commenting on a conversation, you obviously didn't understand. ;)

No problem guys, I should have said that "fear" of losing ones Tax exempt status keeps many ministers in check. I have never endorsed any particular candidate, and I always encourage my congregation to adhere to their own convictions at the Polls. I will bring out Biblical Principles as guidelines however, but its still a persons individual choice. There are Two Things of which I am certain about myself (1) I am not the Savior and (2) I am not the Official Christian Policeman, ha.

TM7------I strongly disagree with your thought about Alex Jones conversation.  All Jones did is make gun owners look bad by coming across as a total idiot during his conversation with Piers Morgan.  This example was used by NYS Legislators yesterday when they agreed to Gov. Como's new gun regulations that will affect me and all other residents in the state.  As gun owners, we need responsible people that can operate under control and present a strong argument with factual information not raving loud mouths such as Alex Jones.

Where and who are those responsible people? Most I've seen on his show let him bully the Mic and control the conversation. He gets his points across, and cuts them off.Jones did foam at the mouth, but at least he had the guts to challenge the British piece of human offal. Larry Pratt of the GOA tried to have a conversation with the English girly boy, and was treated like a British subject being dressed down by the QUEEN MOTHER!Just sorry Jones didn't reach across and bend his ROYAL nose into a pretzel.

If voters were objectly attempting to learn gunowners side of the discussion, would a conversation such as Jones had on Morgan's show or the childish statements made by some of the members on this forum really be the message that we should be presenting?  I don't think so.  At this time the only person or agency that should talking out in a manner that is used to present an acceptable agenda for our side is the NRA and I believe that Wayne LaPierre could improve on his presentation to the general public.  Another spokesperson like Charlton Heston that the public respected is more likely to be understood than Alex Jones.  Perhaps Tom Selleck would be a good candidate.

Perhaps Tom Selleck could KISS Morgan like he did in that movie where he played a queer. Maybe Morgan could relate to that.
