Another questions about early frames
« on: December 21, 2012, 10:59:51 AM »
I have an early (probably 70's) Topper 158 20 gauge. Will Topper 30-30 barrels actually fit this frame and more importantlt be safe to shoot with factory ammo? I saw one on the classifieds and thought about buying it, but thought I had better ask first. Thanks for any info you can provide. This was my fathers gun and I inherited it when he passed away. Thanks.

I have an 058 that came with a 20 gauge barrel and a 30-30 barrel. I have moved the 30-30 to a stainless sb2 frame since it fit like a glove and I had a spare. Like Doc said, you need to make sure the barrel is properly fitted.
