Another question about the .500 S&W
« on: December 21, 2012, 09:23:17 AM »

I saw a you tube video that for some reason I can't post the link to. It shows someone shooting a Bighorn Armory leveraction in .500 S&W. In watching the video for some reason the .500 seems to have a very mild muzzle blast. Could someone that shoots one of these comment on the blast? Mild or wild?

Depending on how it's loaded, it can be mild or wild. Like my 45-70, some loads don't kick much at all, some will rattle your teeth.
I have more guns than I need, but not as many as I want.

Factory loads probably pop quite a bit, but you can adjust that to whatever level you want. There is no need to shoot full bore loads unless you are bear hunting, or you are into pain..... :o ::)

Like Twoshooter said it's all in the handload.
Mine shoots 10 or 11 gns of Trailboss with very mild muzzel report.
