Listed on H&R site, but????

So I have this thing for a single shot in .204 Ruger.  Specifically I want an H&R Ultra Varmint (the one with the 24" fluted barrel), it's listed on the H&R site here:  http://www.hr1871.com/firearms/rifles/hunter.asp (the last gun listed on this page).

I've googled my brains out and can't find them for sale anywhere.  I've talked to a few of my local gun shops and they don't even carry H&R.  Some of the local sporting goods stores used to, but not anymore.  The only thing I can find are Rossi's and they aren't available in .204 Ruger (and I don't like them anyway).

Is H&R even making the SB2-F20 anymore?

I intend to immediately change the stock, I don't like the OEM stock, I just want the 24" fluted heavy barrel.  I want to put on a set of pepper grey laminate thumbhole and forend from either Boyds or Richard's Micro Fit stocks and of course a proper varmint scope (undecided on that)...but I have to find the darn rifle to begin with.

I'm not averse to an aftermarket barrel provided it doesn't cost as much as an entire top-end Remington or Savage varmint rifle, but would prefer to just get the Super Varmint model outright.

Welcome!  The fluted Ultras were discontinued, they're shown on the website because some dealers still have them in stock. H&R may still have the accessory barrels, you can call and ask toll free, (866)776-9292, then all you'd need to find is a 2000 or later SB2 frame, many sold in the classifieds here. There's not a lot of difference between the 22" and 24" performance, the 22" bull barrel model is still made.

Thanks quickdtoo.  I was afraid of that.  Oh well.  I have found a couple places that have the HandiGrip in .204 with a 24" bull barrel, so that will have to do.  Not a huge deal, just wanted the fluted barrel if it was still available.
