YES!  A niumber of the guys here have, altho I think they are proving more popular is other calibers besides 35 rem.

My single problem with most in the FTX line is the necessitate of shorter than standard brass. Then this "bastard" brass is only ever any good for this bullet...

BUT I know of a couple guys using it to great success in 356, 358 & 35 Whelen calibers!! I loaded some up in the maxi and was quite pleased with accuracy. BUT feel its probably a bit tough to get good relyable expansion. At all but top vel at the hair scorching ranges. ;)

I have a could boxes myself for use in the 356 I built up after hunting season last year.

I've loaded some in 35, in my micro groove marlin they shoot ok but in my 1950 flat top with ballard rifling they shoot great. Some guns like them and some dont.

Been using them for a few years in a .358 WSSM chambered Handi that I have loaded to mid .35 Rem Super levels and now loading them in a Handi .35 Rem with slightly reduced loads for my wife.  Performance has been stellar so far.  Excellent accuracy and penetration and great wound channels on deer.  Performing better on deer than the 180 Speer FP did for me.  Even shot one deer with a 200 FTX loaded in a Savage chambered in .358WSSM.  Muzzle velocity was around 2560 fps and I waited till she was perfectly broadside and made sure that I only hit ribs.  The bullet held together better than I thought it would since Hornady first brought them out in their .35 Remington load.  I was afraid that the added velocity might make them grenade somewhat.

If you get good accuracy with the FTX, I believe that you will be plenty satisfied with the terminal performance.

I'm planning on using them in my 358JDJ Handi...I am getting about 2550fps using the SSK load data for the Contender.  I can probably pushem a little faster out of the Handi, but I havn't tried that.  I like that I can get a little more velocity out of the 200's...normally I load 225 accubonds for hunting.  Thanks for the comments!

The 200gr HDY FTX bullet has become my go to bullet in my .35 Remingtons and my .358 Winchesters.  Shot a big doe couple of years ago with my limited run 7600 in .35 Remington at a +P+ velocity of 2400fps.  She was running accross a grown over field and one shot put her down and the four legs went skyward.  Tore the heart completely free of the lungs.  Nice 50cent size exit hole.  No sign of bullet breakup, except there were a few tiny fragments of lead inside the heart.  It was a most dramatic kill @ a lazered 96 yards.  I load them to 2500fps in my three .358 Winchesters.  Hornady's web site says the velocity perameters are between 1800fps and 2800fps for best performance.  I like them a lot and the accuracy is great too.

They are an up grade from the R/N you usually have to buy for a tube feed .  Try a box.

By the way they`ve been out for some time.    :)

I just picked some up and loaded them for my .35 Whelen Handi.   With Varget and new remington brass,  2 of the first 3 development load groups shot .78 and .81" respectively for 3 shot groups at 100yds.   I stopped there and loaded up a box.  Havent shot a deer wtih them yet, but a 200grain bullet at around 2700fps will have to do some damage!

Yeah, I'm thinking I may be able to get some more velocity out of my 358jdj...just don't know if I want to mess with it.  The load I have now is very accurate, and I don't think the deer is gonna notice 100-200 fps difference!

I used the LE ammo in the .45-70 before I started reloading and I liked it.  Now that I'm reloading, I don't think I'm going to mess with the FTX in any caliber.  I just load the traditional RN/FPs for the leverguns, and for the .356/.358, I think I'll stick with the 225 gr. Sierra Gameking., even though it costs more.  Besides, brass is too expensive to mutilate.  The .358 FTX has a BC of .300 and the Gameking .384.  To me, that translates:  "Getting there is half the fun."

I am not reloading the round, but use nothing else in myModel 336 in 35 Remington.  Longest shot was 218 yards, through and through the shoulders, one shot kill.  I have used it with success in both 45-70 and 450 Marlin, also.  Actually, in the the 45 calibers I think it does too much damage for deer.  In the 35 Remington it is just about perfect.
