If the velocity is where you want it, I say call it good with the 4895. It looks sub-moa to me.

Thanks, Dinny

My 223 really likes the BLC2 with 55gr Sierra Spitzers. Always sub MOA.

Thats some good shooting!!! Coyotes beware, there is a new gun in  town!!!

I like to suggest prople try a favorite of mine, when looking for a accurate 223 loading.

Its H332 Powder, a 52 or 53g Match bullet and a SR Match primer in a Federal case. Mine likes it near max, but sub 1/2moa is possible from some of them!

BUT if vel is there, looks like you have a good one already!!!

is there a velocity spread(range) that the 223 handi tend to like, i know with my 45/70 when i try to hot rod it it  with lower ruger, upper marlin loads accuracy suffers, keeping it at the upper trapdoor loads and mid range marlin accuracy is awsome, although i dont have a chrony yet,is this something that will help with load development or just confuse it

Countless hand loaders go there entire life without one and do just fine.

Today the prices have come down to a level many can afford the luxury.  I have had one for about ten years and use it may e once or twice a year. I usually trust the forecast numbers in the loading books. Every time I have checked them they where pretty close. Conversely every factory loading I have checked against advertised numbers. Has been way off...

I like having it, I feel it makes me a better loader. Certainly a more informed re loader.

what brand bullets and is h332 good in any other calibers, also might have found a reason my groups are erratic was cleaning the rifle today and noticed hammer marks on the power ring of the scope, any harm in bobbing the hammer flush with the hammer extension, my calibers are listed

I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing it from me, but I'm getting sensational accuracy from Reloader7 in .223.  My best group shot from last test is here:

H332?  ???  H322 works great in my 30-30AI Handi too.  ;) I hope wilynet hasn't tried finding H332 yet!  ;D

Right around 2900 FPS per Alliant's data.  I am using a 3gr. heavier bullet, so might be just slightly slower, but I don't imagine by much.  I'd been hoping to get some to the range with a Chrony but haven't had good timing on getting there with my buddy.  Need to just buy one for myself.  hehe

The ballistic tips have a higher BC than that speer HP though also.

think ill try some grew using only using hodgons powders, but ive also noticed on other sites, that reloader is getting some awesome groupings especially in the ar platforms may have to get 1 of each, just bobbed the hammer tonight enough to clear the power ring, ill try the rest of my 4895 loads, i know i can get this down to 1" groups just gotta find that right combo, although i have noticed same as my 308 i get better groups with LC surplus brass, i know surplus brass can increase pressure through reduced case capacity= higher velocity Right? is that velocity/pressure increase that significant
