Backyard Rodents
« on: November 07, 2012, 02:40:34 PM »
Walking by my back window this morning, this caught my eye in front of my 150 yd backstop. I watched him for about 5 mins. What would be the best medicine for a rodent like this? Thanks for any suggestions. If legal here I was thinking 444 Handi 8)

As a fellow Hoosier, I have a 444 and a 44 mag.  Who knows which one I grabbed, I get confused sometimes.  ;)

A 44 magnum or 357 Max would do the trick. BTW I have new loads to try out for both my 44 Mag and 357 Max. Can I come down and try them out?

Indiana laws make it almost like bow hunting with a gun. I have the 44 and 357 but would be more confident with my 223 SL at that range. Guess that means I need to practice more with the legal guns. Think 243 would be a slam dunk :-*  Anyway it was fun to watch him for a while. There used to be a lot more deer here when I was the only house in sight :(  I wonder if he was the SOB that tore up all my trees and bushes last year.
Whelen would do the trick I bet.
LaOtto, I will have to practice with my 44 mags for that range. Get back with me later about sighting in as I have too much to do right now to even sight mine in >:(
Gonna have to ream to Super Mag I guess ;)  Saw one years ago that was this ones DADDY 8)

:) Sighting in was just a pretext to putting a shot toward your varmint. :D I have a range I shoot at in my back yard for my sighting in and such.

I know, I didn't want you to think you are not welcome. I think I should get the first sight in shot on that rodent though. You can back me up ;D

Added: Maybe we can go see Stimpy again ;)

bigvarmnt - I have your back ;) If stimpy has another shoot, I will be there as long as God is willing and the river does not raise. I have been to all the ones he has had so far, always had a good time and meet some fine folks.

Good Shooting and Happy Hunting!
