Anschutz Woodchucker - RSR Exhibition Grade Editon
« on: May 01, 2012, 04:53:38 PM »
Any of you remember this rare edition of the Anschutz 1449D Youth rilfe that RSR sold a very few of in 1986?   Or better yet have a good color picture of one?   Not the run of the mill Plain Jane version... the short run exhibition grade model from RSR with wood and high gloss finish to die for.

Got to thinking about the one I bought for my son when I came across some pictures of him today, one of him shooting it (unfortunately a black and white snapshot).   I was at my favorite gun shop when two of them were delivered to him (the only 2 he ever got), and had to literally pry one of them out of his hands to buy it for my son for Christmas when he was 8.   I wanted them both despite the high toll.   But I was lucky to get the one I did, and only then because I was a regular customer who bought lots of firearms from him.   My son outgrew it all to soon and moved up to a full size rifle.   Like a total fool I sold it, for more than twice what I paid for it and put the money in the bank for my son, but one of those we should have held onto.   Probably not chance of finding and buyung one today... if you did you'd have to have very deep pockets.

Anyway, I've looked high and low before on line, and again today for a color picture of one to no avail.   Found a few of the Plane Jane versions, but I guess the limited edition is just too rare.    So if anybody comes across a good picture of one, please LMK or send it to me.    Thanks.

Here's the snapshots I found.

My son shooting his...

And shooting his S&W Model 63 he also got for Christmas that year...

Shooting my Colt Ace...

And my Colt New Frontier Buntiline...

Last one, he had no fear shooting one of my Ruger Super Blackhawks.   I didn't tell him for a couple of years that I had loaded it with 44 Special ammo for him to shoot though

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
