I LOVE a 220G Sierra in front of a compressed load of RL7 powder!!

I too would like one in a handi!!

Should be quite a thumper I think, finished off at 22 1/4 inches, sure does have a big ole hole down the the thing.  I am betting it is a nice shooter, is used to be a Weatherby.  Larry

Don't have one yet in the Handi, am seriously thinking of having my 30-30 AI bored out to 38-55 with the .376 bore.  I DO have a Marlin M-375, a Marlin 38-55 CB and a Ruger #3 in 375 as well as my 38-55 Target and a 38-55 Handi barrel.  Yah, I kinda like that caliber. ;)   Let us know how she shoots Larry, bet she's gonna lay em right in there.  DP

I have a Contender in .375 Win. w/ 14" barrel.  I used it here in NYS before they allowed rifle hunting.  Contenders, etc. were OK.  I got two deer with it using a Hornady 220 gr. bullet.  Both were straight on shots at about 40 yards in the woods.  The deer was running right at me.  Both times, the deer dropped right there!

I have shot this rig off a bench and was very surprised and pleased with the accuracy.  Yes, it kicks but it's not an unmanageable kick, not an obnoxious kick like  a 44 Magnum.  (Maybe it's just me; I don't like shooting a .44 Mag.)

Anyway, I would love to get a Handi-Rifle in .375 Win.    Does anyone know of any sources of barrels short of coming up with something on my own?

I do think the .375 Win. is an unappreciated and misunderstood cartridge.  I'm into Handis but I wouldn't sell my Contender in .375 Win.

Larry, I'll bet that is a light rifle using that Weatherby barrel.  I just stand in awe of your projects that I have followed.  With 10 thumbs and Murphy riding in my shoulder :o , I have learned not to tackle too much.  Was pretty proud of myself for reaming 357 to Max without screwing it up though. 8) ;D   DP

If so it would need a RE bore as they are different diameters.

.375 vs .358

Ben, Check out my second post on this thread and contact  Jess over there.  www.35caliber.com  He does alot more than 35 calibers and price is reasonable, turnaround is fast.  30-30 barrel would be a simple rebore/ rechamber, extractor is the same.  You can even let him know how many grooves you want it rifled with, many have had excellent results with the 3 groove rifling.  DP.
