Oregon Carronade Scale Drawing
« on: March 09, 2012, 05:29:54 AM »

Hey guys,

I am in need of a scale drawing for the British 18-pounder carronade I restored from Oregon. If someone has the knowledge to do this and is interested in helping me out, I can provide plenty of photographs and measurements. I need three views (side, top and front). I am a graduate student so funding is tight but I can pay for these services, if reasonable.

Here is an example of what I would need:

Welcome back, Brennan. I'm sorry I can't help you with a measured drawing, but I was curious to know if you asked anyone from the ship modelling department of the 'Nautical Archaeology Program' at Texas A&M? I'd think that producing a measured drawing of a carronade would be a cakewalk for them.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

I ended up making some drawings for this, and since I haven't received any prohibition on publishing them (and really they are mine), here is what this piece looks like:
