I have an older 30-30/20 gauge nickle combo. The forearm fits great on the 30-30 barrel, but is real tight on the 20 gauge barrel. Worried I might break off the lug for the srew. Curious as to what can be done that would be beneficial to both. Thought about opening up the forearm screw hole but then the 30-30 barrel might be too loose. Any ideas?
Is the barrel lug in the same place as current Handi's? If so, it's an easy remedy, buy another fore end, and fit it to the 20. If it's not then I would open the forearm screw hole just a
little bit, checking with both barrels,
as soon as the 20 fits, stop. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it, my guess is that the gun wasn't used much with the 20 barrel. Shoot it a bit with the 20 barrel on, and it might "shoot into" the forearm. I had a couple of guns like that, eventually the forearm fit better. Just my 2 cents.
