Last woodchuck of 2012...
« on: October 21, 2012, 03:37:41 PM »
Set up  on an active den with the little .410, picked off this one sneaking out a "blind hole" a few yards from the main entrance...45 paces..DRT:

I'm very confident with this rig on woodchucks out to fifty yards...Scott B.

Shot Or Slug?

I take it slug, having the scope and 50 yds.

You are correct, bulk-pack Remington Sluggers are giving me good results. With a house 200yards to my immediate right, a bowhunter parked 400 yards staightaway, and an L.P. Gas dealer 200 yards to my immediate left, that slow moving hunk of soft lead seemed like the right choice... 8) ...Scott B.

It's been shortened to 22" which makes it cylinder bore. The theory is that Remington makes the largest diameter slugs of the manufacturers, and with no choke to disrupt the path, the slug flies true. Works for me. I did alot of reading here:http://mcb-homis.com/slug_410/index.htmand agree, Remington Sluggers are consistently more accurate than Winchester and Federal in this gun. The new Brenneke Close Encounter 2 1/2" slug shot very well, but cost too much for what I'm using them for, the 3" was wildly innaccurate out of this gun. So, bulk-pack Remmies from Wally world for me.... 8) ...Scott B.
