Rock Island revolvers?
« on: March 16, 2012, 12:41:34 AM »
Cruising the web last night I found some Rock Island 38 revolvers listed on gunbroker.  Went to the Armscor/RIA sight and read what little info they had there.  Aparently they are a new addition to the line.  Anybody handle one yet?  They are parkerised, plane-Jane looking wheel guns available with either a 4" or a 2" barrel.  Priced right.  I'd be interested in getting one ( because who doesn't need another 38  ;) ) if they are good functioning guns.
So who's handled one?  Maybe even shot one?

Not really that "new", they've been sold under tha Armscore brand for quite some time. I had one of the 4" models, it looked a lot like the Colt Police Positive Special. It functioned well but the one I had was not especially accurate so I didn't keep it long. I think it was worth the price but wasn't really a great bargain. If I weren't really serious about accuracy, and if I really wanted a .38 special, I probably would have kept it.
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.

I had one in 38  in 2 inch and found it to be accurate and reliable.Finish sucks, but for the price, a good deal. I would have kept it, but got a better deal on a trade.
