Remington 700 BDL in 222 Magnum

How many of you out there own one of these?
Does anyone know how many were made? Does anyone have a reasonable idea what the value is for a 90% gun? My Dad gave me one of these that he bought used, back in the early 70's.

Flash :  Blue book on that rifle is being shown at $340 however I am sure it would bring alot more if you can find some one looking for that caliber. :D    JIM

From the information I received, Remington only made a little over one thousand in a BDL, the rest of production was finished in the ADL. This was the reason for my query, coupled with a six digit serial number on this gun. I also found out that the 222 Magnum was Remington't first attempt to give the military a small, potent infantry round. Uncle Sam sent them away, told them to try again and the 223 was born.

.........I had one in 700BDL and a couple in 40x's , and Sakos and Browning/Sakos.......the cartridge is a great shooter and easy to load and get good results.....you don't see many of the 700's still around in the 222mag and unless it is 'as new or NIB" I haven't seen any interest in them except for the value of the gun to shoot......brass is still avaliable in Remington and I 'hear" the new Ruger 204 is similar to the 222mag brass for a base case? .......there may be a collector demand for them but I haven't seen or heard about it? but I only look at Remingtons for great shooters......good luck and good shooting!!
