30-30 Finally struck

It's been a slow season here with the weather being warm and the mountain full of dropped acorns,and patterning these deer has been next to impossible but this past Friday I finally got my very first deer.Before the the deer came in I had 8 turkey come in almost on top of me. I had one come in at around 50ft. that I could have got with my longbow, but turkey season doesnt open until March....Just my luck...LOL. She will make some good eatin'.

Congrats on your first deer with the 30-30, it's been the same way here in N.W. FL. the temps. have been runing around mid 70's. What bullet,reload or fact.?

Randy, Congrats!  Your persistence paid off. 
I assume this was the Handi that originally was going to be a 7-08.   Glad you got your deer, that ole' 30-30, remains the most popular .30cal deer cartridge ever.

Yes it was the Handi 30-30 that was going to be a 7-08....It took some time to figure out what brand of ammo she liked, but now she shoots great. I have a synthetic monte carlo stock and fore end ordered to put on her and she will be ready for just about anything.
