I use a Pelican Case and cut my own shapes in the foam for barrels and keep them on the bottom layer. On the top, I keep the frame of my rifle. With a large Pelican case, you can carry a lot more than you think. In mine, I carry two scoped T/C rifle barrels, one non scoped T/C barrel, one short barrel for my H&R 45 Colt Rifle AND my two long barrels in 38-55 and 45-70. On the top, I can fit the T/C frame with rifle stock and both of my H&R frames with mounted stocks and three rifle forends.
This makes for a VERY heavy case and thankfully it has wheels on one end. I typically don't fill the case like this when going shooting but it can be done. I'd buy a Pelican case over any other. They're very durable and roomy. The only downfall is that they carry a big price tag. I luckily found mine mismarked at a Cabela's. When I asked the clerk about the price, he said, "well, you found it that way so it looks like you got yourself one heck of a deal!". It was listed as $96.00 as opposed to the typical $189 or so. It definitely was a deal!
