The best powder I used was 3031, not much powder compression like I had with 748, good velocity and accuracy too. If I were to come into another 358 it would be my go to powder.

there seems to be quite a following here of the 35 caliber guns. to date it's the only caliber other than 17 centerfire that i don't or haven't owned .........yet. i have a mauser that i'm going to build into a 35. i thought at first 358 in a scout setup with an 18 inch barrell. then got to thinking 35 whelen or ackley improved with a 24 inch barrel. either way, will come together before this coming big game season.
i like guns 30 caliber and up for big game. no denying the effectiveness of a big slug placed right!!! sure i can kill them with a 243...but why, when i can throw 180 or way more grains at em!!!!!
