Encore 12 gauge rifled barrel
« on: September 06, 2011, 04:40:40 PM »
I recently obtained a stainless steel 12 gauge rifled slug barrel.  I noticed it only had two screw holes for mounting a scope base.  Is this normal?  My 20 gauge slug barrel has four screw holes for mounting a scope base.  It appears the previous owner had a scope base on it.  The rear sight is in place also.  I'm aware that the 12 gauge Encore uses a special scope base with shorter mounting screws but only two screw holes bothers me.  Does anyone have any information on this?  Thanks

It should have 4 holes.

I got a T/C barrel once in in which the holes for the forend screws had never been tapped.  I sent it to T/C and they fixed it.  If you send your barrel to them, I'm confident they'll fix it.

it should have 4 holes and 2 holes for the rear sight.  Total of Six screws used for the 12ga scope mount from T/C.  http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,137316.0.html
